The Barry Lopez Photograph Collection contains the photographs, slides, negatives, and contact sheets that were removed from the Barry Lopez Papers during processing. These images were produced by Barry Lopez and other photographers. Many images were produced for use in Lopez's book publications. Other photos were included in business or reader correspondence. Some photographs appear to have been used as writing paper, with writing on the backs. With the exception of photos used for Of Wolves and Men, photocopies of the photographs were made and placed in the folders of the manuscript collection. Dates assigned to specific photographs may reflect date of publication for the associated manuscript material, though many photographs have copyright date on the verso.
